Nobody knows exactly how many people drown every year; the estimate is that between 0,5 and 1,2 million people per year die due drowning.
Only meningitis and HIV make more victims!
Therefore, the World Health Organization acknowledge drowning as a
humanitarian disaster of unprecedented proportions.
Swim to Survive contributes to the prevention of drowning by train swim instructors in watery areas where many people drown. We focus specifically on people at a disadvantaged position.
